We loved our stay at Bedrock and we’re sad to leave!

Patrick’s cottage was well equipped for anything we might need. We cooked dinner there one night, no problem. The beds and pillows were the comfiest of our entire Ireland vacation, so we rested deeply and well. We couldn’t stop looking out the windows!–what a delight it was to wake up bleary eyed from the long hikes of the day before to see the stunning Kenmare Bay greeting us while we enjoyed our morning tea. The vantage point is phenomenal! We enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets here so much. Tucked out of the way from both Kenmare and Killarney, it was still an excellent place to access all the attractions of Killarney National Park / Gap of Dunloe and an easy drive to enjoy Kenmare town. If we had more time, it would have been a great jumping off point for Ring of Kerry and the Beara Peninsula drives as well… alas, just not enough time! We were sad to leave, and would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you, Patrick!

Cottage met and exceeded our expections for a country home with a wide unobstructed view of kenmare and small islands. It was the perfect base from which to explore the ring of Kerry, beara Peninsula and wild Atlantic way. Patrick is the quintessential host.

Bedrock Cottage exceeded out expectations. The house was comfortable, clean and well equipped. The owner and manager were easy to deal with and anticipated all our needs. We chose this as a perfect spot from which to launch adventures in every direction but we were just as happy to be right there. Having the utilities included in the rental kept things simple. We highly recommend Bedrock Cottage.

The cottage is exactly as described. The view is beautiful , everything you need is available and the cottage is clean. It is about 9 Km. (10 minute drive) from Kenmare were you can find Aldi and Lidl and many nice restaurants. If you want to make day trips the cottage is situated central.

The only “small” disadvantage is that if you want to take walks in the nature or beach you will need a car. The owner (Patrick) did leave small welcome presents and his phone number for us ,but did not introduced himself personally. Some people will like this other maybe not. All in all it was a very nice time in the Bedrock cottage.

We had a lovely stay at your house! The view was juist amazing, even beter than we expected. It was quiet and you had nearly no neighbours so you could make as much noise as you wanted and no one would hear (Not that we did it ofcourse). There were enough attractions nearby and the house was clean and cosy. I have no more things to say, it was a great holiday!

Sneem ist in ca. 30 min. erreicht. Kenmare in 10 min.

Wenn man einfach die Straße weiter bergauf fährt kommt man in wunderschöne Landschaften!

Und in den Nationalpark.

Der Garten/Terrasse ist “Naturbelassen”. Barfuss ging erst nach einiger Handarbeit – dornige Ranken auf dem Boden

Bedrock Cottage ist gut und schnell von Kenmare aus erreichbar und in einer ländlichen Nachbarschaft sehr ruhig gelegen. Es bietet eine grandiose Aussicht auf die Beara Halbinsel und das Bergland. Für 2 Personen ist das Cottage großzügig geschnitten und mit allem ausgestattet was wünschenswert ist; auch für eine Familie ist es ideal. – Schön ist auch die Möglichkeit direkt vom Haus aus loswandern zu können. Das Meer bzw. den Pier in Templenoe erreicht man mit einem Spaziergang über den Golfplatz. Der Umgang mit den Vermietern war unkompliziert und vorausschauend. Wir bedanken uns für die Gastfreundschaft, wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und empfehlen Bedrock Cottage gerne weiter.

Oberhalb vom Meer gelegen mit einem traumhaften Blick von der Terrasse haben wir eine schöne Woche im Bedrock Cottage verbracht. Großzügiges Platzangebot für 4 Personen, gut ausgestattete Küche und nah zum Ring of Kerry, Ring of Beara und Killarney Nationalpark. Netter Empfang mit Brot. Käse und Wein – vielen Dank, Patrick! Absolute Empfehlung

Très agréable maison,idéale pour 2 couples ou un seul avec un ou deux enfants. C’est le calme ,la vue superbe et avec le temps irlandais,sur la Kenmare river et ses îles, ça n’est jamais la même lumière ,la même impression !

Nous avons aussi apprécié la confiance des propriétaires,pas de caution, pas d’état des lieux,si vous cassez quelque chose ils vous demande simplement de remplacer.Alors à vous de mériter cette confiance ! En arrivant nous avons trouvé (en plus de la petite attention de bienvenue)une température agréable (chauffage par le sol basse température)

Quelques petites idées cependant pour les propriétaires (pour amener la location au top)

-Mettre des mitigeurs sur l’évier et sur la baignoire(l’eau est très chaude et assez difficile à régler)

-Mettre des rideaux plus opaques dans les chambres (Peut être pour les français ?) En Irlande je n’ai jamais vu de volets aux fenêtres)

-Avoir plus d’assiettes et de couverts pour éviter de faire tourner le lave vaisselle trop souvent.

Die Ausstattung war gut, so wie beschrieben und mit Bildern dokumentiert. Aber die Fotos können eigentlich nur einen mageren Eindruck vermitteln. Der Blick ist viel schöner. Während unseres Aufenthalts war herrschte fast nur schönes Wetter, aber auch bei trübem oder regnerischen Wetter hat man immer etwas zu gucken und das ist das Geniale an diesem Haus.

Dieses Cottage ist ein traumhafter, toll gelegener Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Killarney, Ring of Kerry, den wild Atlantic Way oder auch zur Hunderennbahn nach Tralee. Die Aussicht ist derart faszinierend, dass man sich nicht sattsehen kann und will. Es besteht ein sehr guter Kontakt zum Vermieter, der bei kleineren Problemen und Fragen jederzeit antwortet und schnell zur Stelle ist. Wir haben zwei Wochen bei herrlichem Sonnenschein sehr genossen und sind etwas wehmütig nach Hause gefahren. Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Das Cottage hat eine schöne Terrasse mit wunderbarem Blick auf die Kenmare-Bay, direkt am Ring of Kerry. Es ist gut ausgestattet und alles da, was man braucht. Ein schöner Golfplatz liegt direkt daneben und Kenmare ist ein sehr nettes kleines Örtchen in 10 Min Entfernung. Der Empfang war sehr nett: mit Wein, Brot, Butter & Käse und einem netten Brief. Alles schön, wir kommen gerne wieder!

My mum and I spent one week at the cottage in June 2018 and we absolutely loved it! It was easy to find thanks to the information Patrick had sent us in advance. The cottage is charming, very clean and welcoming and has absolutely everything one needs! Both rooms are nice and comfy and each one has a nice bathroom en-suite.The house is situated in a quiet area and offers stunning views! It is perfectly located about 10min by car from Kenmare and we were able to discover a new place (Ring of Kerry, Dingle, Beara, Mizen Head, Killarney, etc.) each day. We highly recommend this lovely cottage to anyone who wants to spend a great time in the area and feel happy to come back every evening to a place that feels like home. Thanks a lot to Linda and Patrick, who were always very helpful and extremely quick to answer any of our questions before or during our stay.

Die positiven Bewertungen hatten nicht zu viel versprochen. Wir verbrachten eine Woche in einer tollen Unterkunft mit phantastischer Sicht auf das Meer und die Beara Halbinsel. Das Haus ist für irische Verhältnisse einwandfrei ausgestattet und – sehr positiv – wohl temperiert. Es mangelte uns an nichts. Als wir mal ein kleines Problem mit dem Internet hatten, wurde uns umgehend geholfen, obwohl der Ursache am Umsetzer auf dem gegenüberliegenden Berg lag. Sehr liebenswürdiger und reaktionsschneller Kontakt per sms. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen. Wir können das Haus wärmstens empfehlen.

Cottage présentant un beau panorama sur la baie de Kenmar. Il est spacieux, confortable, bien équipé. très agréable semaine au calme situé à 6,5 km de la ville.

Cottage was neat, clean, and as described. View was lovely even when the fog rolled in. Great spot to recuperate from surgery. Have to say the best was owner Patrick. We had a few challenges immediately. The internet was not working properly; fixed quickly. The oven broke New Years Eve and within a few hrs we had a replacement for our roast chicken dinner celebration. Next, the gas went out on the cook-top and we had a replacement propane tank within an hour. Can not say enough nice things about Patrick! He brought us a beautiful basket of goodies for our troubles. He has some good reads on his bookshelf as well. Kenmare is a lovely spot and very quiet at this time of the year. Hopefully, we can find another time to revisit. Anne and Calvin

This is a beaitiful home in a beautiful setting. My absolute favorite spot in pur 2 week venture in Ireland. Patrick is an extremely gracious host and his communication was supperior. I will absolulty stay here again in the future.

I can only be enthousiastic about this cottage.

Warm welcome with several presents, much privacy. The floorwarming made it feel warm everywhere. Much light entered the windows, showing a scenary beyond imagination. I felt home from the first moment. The kitchen and all equipment functioned well . That was not the case in several former cottages.The central location near Killarny National Park and the ocean did not require long trips to experience extraordinarily natural beauty. Only the weather was challenging that week.

The overall experience was great. The cottage is located hillside in an extremely quiet neighbourhood facing a great view over a bay with small montains in the background. The owners are very courteous and remarked that our 4 day – 3 person trip would cost the same if we enhanced it to 7 days – 4 persons. So we rescheduled our flight and got the cheapest holiday we ever had – calculated per day.

We had a little trouble with the shower, but they got it fixed in no time.

While being quite remote, the cottage is in proximity to a small town with supermarkets, pubs and shops. Also, if you follow the small road leading to the cottage, you end up on the edge of the beautiful Killarney National Park.

Would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes to have a peaceful and quiet holiday.

Super Blick von der Terrasse, gute Ausstattung und beste Ausgangsbasis für Ausflüge. Zur Begrüßung standen Wein, Brot und Käse auf dem Tisch. Während unseres Aufenthalts waren wir ungestört und hatten eine Telefonnummer für alle Fragen. Es gab keine, außer der, wann wir wohl wieder kommen. Thanks a lot!

Lovely spacious and cosy cottage (very effective underfloor heating) with great views from large French windows. Hurricane-proof too (Ophelia struck during our stay)..! Friendly, helpful owner. Less than 15 mins drive into Kenmare for pubs, restaurants etc and only 25 mins into Killarney National Park. Ring of Kerry road 5 mins. Didn’t manage to get the driveway lights working and a few bulbs missing or not working (outside light, cooker hood, extractor fan etc). Had we mentioned these relatively minor issues at the time I’m sure Patrick would have sorted for us but we didn’t so that’s our fault. If we find ourselves in these parts again we would book again without hesitation. Internet worked well. Ring of Kerry golf club next door too. Detached, private, peaceful. Flat-screen TV would be nice. Very enjoyable all-round.

The cottage has stunning views and is even ideal when the gales are howling and that horizontal rain lashing between the sunny days. The fishing was excellent. The cottage was sufficiently well away from centres of population to inspire some writing too. All in all a perfect stay, thank you Patrick.

Just spent a lovely relaxing week in this lovely. The photos don’t do it justice. Fantastic views changing as the tide and clouds passed by. Watched the sun rise and set, just spectacular.
